Jaime Bochantin, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Western Illinois University. She received her BA and MA at DePaul University and her Ph.D. from Texas A & M University. She is trained in organizational communication and teaches classes, which include Qualitative Research Methods, Organizational Communication and Conflict Management. Her current research interests center on the relationship between work and family for public safety employees (i.e. police officers and fire fighters) as well as their families.
In addition to teaching and research, she has developed and facilitated training workshops on a variety of topics including work-life balance, networking techniques, generational differences in the workplace and referral sources. She has presented her research at a number of regional and national conferences and some of her recent publications appear in Qualitative Research Reports in Communication, Negotiations and Conflict Management Research and Women and Language. When not working, Jaime enjoys spending time with family and her two dogs, Fendi and Gabbana.
