Dr. Mary Hogg is an associate professor of communication at the WIU—Quad Cities campus in Moline, IL. Her teaching interests are broad, in that she teaches most all the courses that serve the Communication Minor at the Quad Cities campus. Dr. Hogg’s favorite classes to teach are: Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Communication, Persuasion, Argumentation, Interviewing, Small Group Communication, Gender and Communication, Communication Pedagogy, and Public Speaking.

Dr. Hogg’s Ph.D. was earned at the University of Iowa in the College of Education, wherein she majored in Curriculum and Supervision with emphases in Communication Education, Educational Administration, and Secondary Curriculum. Dr. Hogg has a great passion for education, and hopes that she will inspire her students in the ways that her teachers have inspired her through the years.

This is Dr. Hogg's 24th year of college teaching. She is in her third year as a faculty member at WIU-QC. Prior to coming to Western, Dr. Hogg spent 2 years out East, teaching at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania, and 1 semester at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. Dr. Hogg has also taught at Eastern Michigan University, Eastern Illinois University, and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
