WIU Community Music School — String Orchestras

The string orchestra program at WIU Community Music School promotes musical growth and artistic performance of quality literature that develops all aspects of string playing. The program is designed to provide an ensemble experience for elementary through junior high school-aged students.

This string group is for younger students who are developing music reading and performing skills on violin, viola, cello or string bass. (students in this orchestra are able to read music from a level 2 traditional string method)

Semester registrations - $90 (checks submitted at first rehearsal payable to Community Music School)

Saturday, August 29, 2015 – 11:00-1:30PM – Browne Hall room 129

Students auditioning for should come prepared to play D, G, and C major scales as well as a prepared piece/solo.
