Visiting Campus

Graduate Program

The best way to get to know our program is to visit us in person. We invite all prospective graduate students to campus for an individual visit or to attend our open house.

Join us for our Graduate Program Open House on Saturday November 2 11:00 – 2:00. You will meet faculty and current students, learn about our graduate program in speech-language pathology, and tour our recently renovated facilities. Please RSVP to Amy Burke (email: ar-burke@wiu.edu) by October 24 if you would like to attend.

If you cannot attend our Open House, we invite you to arrange an individual visit. Campus visits include meeting with faculty, attending a graduate class, touring our Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, and meeting with current students. During Fall 2013, visits can be scheduled at any of the following times:

  • Mondays     10:00 – 12:30
  • Tuesdays     12:00 – 2:45
  • Wednesdays     11:00 – 1:30
  • Thursdays     12:00 – 2:45
  • Fridays     11:00 – 1:30
  • Fridays     12:30 – 3:00

If you would like to schedule a visit, please contact Angela Thomason at (309) 298-1955 or csd@wiu.edu. Please note that due to university holidays, visits cannot be scheduled on October 18, November 13– 15, or November 25– 29. If you are unable to visit campus but have questions about our graduate program, please contact our graduate adviser, Dr. Bob Quesal at (309) 298-1955 or R-Quesal@wiu.edu.

Undergraduate Program

Prospective undergraduate and transfer students are encouraged to visit the Macomb campus to learn about WIU and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. One of the best ways to visit campus is during one of the Discover Western events organized through the admissions office. Faculty from CSD attend every Discover Western event and will be available to answer your questions and give you a tour of our department.

If you are unable to visit campus but have questions about our undergraduate program, please contact our undergraduate adviser, Ms. Kate Pohlpeter at (309) 298-3529 or ka-pohlpeter@wiu.edu.

As part of the Discover Western event on Monday February 17th from 8:30 – 2:00 we will be hosting a special Communication Sciences and Disorders Day. You will have the opportunity to attend an undergraduate class, explore our department and on-campus clinic, tour the campus, and have lunch with current students and faculty. If you would like to attend this event, please RSVP Julie Dalmasso at jl-dalmasso@wiu.edu or 309-298-1955.
