Marietta Dean participated as one of the distinguished performers and scholars during the Eighth International Festival of Women Composers on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus during spring 2008. The featured lecture and recital was entitled," The Boulanger Sisters: Parallels and Divergencies." It was presented in conjunction with WIU faculty pianist Chung-Ha Kim in the Music Theater Hall. The presentation made a significant contribution among the festival's seventy selected scholars, performers, composers, conductors and over three hundred student performers. The long-standing festival, featuring the works of women composers by international presenters since 1990, draws upon the highest quality of scholars and performers in this research area. The talents that Professor Dean shared have added to an emerging collection of data and performances on the works of women composers.
