Western Illinois University's Community Music School (CMS) is accepting 2011-2012 registrations for private student lessons on drums, voice, guitar and piano, as well as for Family Music Classes and the youth string orchestra. This year, CMS has added a teacher to coach a jazz combo as well as to teach private lessons on drums. Private voice lessons are now also offered. Community Music School fresh air concert
Drum lessons, along with the new jazz combo program, will be taught by graduate student Steve Aldeman. Mr. Aldeman has been playing the drums professionally for over 35 years and has taught drummers of all ages for the past 25 years. As a performer, he has worked with artists from a variety of styles including Jazz, Blues, Rock and Pop and has performed in a variety of shows and theater productions. He has played with Joe Lovano, Bobby Shew, Richie Cole, Bobby Enriquez, Ira Sullivan, Larry Coryell, Eric Alexander, Matt Murphy, Blackie Schakner, David Brenner, Bob Newhart, and countless other musicians. The WIU Jazz program will oversee the combo program taught by Steve and will provide opportunities to work with the famed Jazz faculty.
