Broadcasting Reunion
Greetings!
Do you ever wonder what happened to all those great people you knew from the Broadcasting Department at WIU? Well, now you can find out. Join us for the "Stuck in the '70s Reunion" and reconnect with that part of your past that you remember fondly…or otherwise!
Here's a tentative schedule of events. Subject to change of course!
Friday April 24th Broadcasting Department Banquet 5PM-8PM
This is the annual banquet. The Department will probably give somebody from our generation an award. It's mostly for the students, but they would love to have alumni attend. Broadcasting would like to create a connection between current students and alumni. This is totally optional, but I've been to one and it's a good time.
Friday April 24th Meet and Greet at the Pace 8PM-Closing Time
This will be the place where people can hook up. Typical Macomb bar scene with a nice courtyard.
Saturday April 25th "Stuck in the '70s" @WIUS Noon-2 PM
I will probably host a radio show. I want people to come by and have some fun. We'll play some records and do some interviews with people who stop by. Should be fun.
Saturday April 25th Tour TV Station & WIUM 1 PM
Broadcasting wants to make sure that everyone sees what the TV station has become. They are very proud of their facility and their van. People may also want to see what WIUM looks like. Kenny Thurman runs it now.
Saturday April 25th Uptown Pub Crawl 8PM
We'll meet at some bar…and go from there.
Sunday April 26th Goodbye Breakfast 10AM
Not exactly sure how to do this. But we'll figure something out.
Needless to say, the more people that show up for this thing the better it will be. Unfortunately we don't have a complete list of alumni, so don't hesitate to contact any classmates you might know. And if you need help in locating some long lost broadcasters, drop me a note and I will see if I can find them through the university.
