QUESAL ELECTED ASHA FELLOW

Robert W. Quesal, CSD faculty, has been elected a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Fellowship is one of the highest forms of recognition given by ASHA of an individual's accomplishments, and is public declaration of outstanding professional achievements. Individuals elected to ASHA Fellowship this year will be recognized formally with a presentation of Fellow Certificates at the Awards Ceremony, November 20th, 5:30 p.m. at the 2009 ASHA Convention in New Orleans, LA.

WIU Thespian Erin O'Connor Named Miss Illinois

Mark your calendars and plan to watch Erin O’Connor compete as Miss Illinois for Miss America on January 30, 2010!
Erin, a Western Illinois University theatre-acting major and dance minor, was crowned the 2009 Miss Illinois June 20 at the Miss Illinois Pageant in St. Charles. She will advance to the Miss America Pageant, which will be televised live on Jan. 30, 2010 on TLC.

ART ALUM KRISTIN BEAVER WINS PRESTIGIOUS KRESGE
ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

Kristin Beaver, a 2000 BFA Art alum, has received a very prestigious inaugural Kresge Artist Fellows in the Visual Arts. The Fellowships, each including a $25,000 prize funded by The Kresge Foundation, are awarded annually to visual, performing and literary artists and are the largest such awards available to individual artists in metropolitan Detroit.

INTERNATIONAL HORN SYMPOSIUM PICTURE GALLERY

The 2009 International Horn Symposium was a terrific success. Everyone around here was walking around with a big smile for the whole week. We even saw Randall Faust smiling most of the time and he was the one who put the whole symposium together.
It really did run like clock work and those hornist just know how to have fun, learn, make connections, try instruments, and apparently find their way to Buffalo Wild Wings all on their own. Here's a photo gallery to bring back the memories.
