THEATRE AND DANCE - JUNE 2009

 

Doug Menke, BA 1992, Macomb, C.J. Langdon, BFA senior, O'Fallon, IL, and Kellan Smith have received "Special Commendation for Distinguished Achievement" awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival" for their performances in last fall's production of alum Christian Krauspe's award winning play Dearborn Americana: Menke for his role as Ivan; Langdon as Alexei; and Kellan Smith as young Henry Ford II. Kellan is the son of Chris and Rachel Smith of Macomb. Kellan was 8 years old at the time of the production. Kellan Smith is appearing as JoJo in the Summer Musical Theatre production of Seussical June 19, 20, 25, 26 & 27, in Hainline Theatre.

Nathan Grant, MFA student, has joined the cast of South Pacific at the Great Plains Theatre in Abilene, Kansas.

 

Danny Pancratz, MFA student, will play Hotspur in Henry IV this summer at in Festival 56 Princeton, Illinois.

It is Jared McDaris at the Unrehearsed Shakespeare workshop at Eureka College in Eureka, IL.

 

Jared McDaris, MFA student, just completed the Unrehearsed Shakespeare Workshop (which WIU co-sponsors) at Eureka College. He played Canterbury and Flewellyn in the workshop's capstone production ofHenry V. Later this summer McDaris will appear in All Shook UP and Picasso at the Lapin Agile at McLeod Summer Playhouse. The production will be directed by alum Fulton Burns MFA 2007.

 

Colin Wasmund, MFA 2009, will also be performing with McLeod Summer Playhouse this summer.

 

Jonathan Self, MFA 2009, will join the intern company at the Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
