Masterclass and Recital Featuring Mark Ostoich
Dr. Mark Ostoich
The Western Illinois University School of Music Oboe Studio is very pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Ostoich will present a Masterclass and Recital on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Both events are Free and open to the public. Both events will be held in the College of Fine Arts and Communication Recital Hall. This program is partially funded with a grant from the Performing Arts Society. Read more.

Benoit to Present Thompson Lecture
Dr. William Benoit, University of Ohio, will present the Thompson Lecture on March 28, 2011 at 7:30 pm in Sandburg Theatre. The lecture, The Functional Theory of Political Campaign Discourse and the 2010 UK Prime Minister Debates, will focus on the recent first-ever debates for prime minister in the UK.

Kincaid's Production Nominated for Best Production of Summer Season
Bill Kincaid, Professor of Theatre and Head of Acting
Bill Kincaid's production of SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS at Cortland Repertory Theatre was nominated for three Syracuse Area Live Theatre awards. This is the third year in a row that productions he has directed have been nominated for Best Production of the Summer Season, following GROSS INDECENCY and A FEW GOOD MEN, for which WIU alum Jonathan Self, MFA 2010, was also nominated as Best Actor. CSD Goes to Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Convention
WIU CSD Students at ISHA
Faculty and students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department attended the Illinois Speech-Language- Hearing Convention at the Rosemont Convention Center on February 11-13th. The faculty and students attended sessions on dysphagia, autism, and stuttering. Students who volunteered and attended the convention were: Allison Rolinskas, Lauren Kubik, Kayla Rossi, Jamie Monier, Jill Kevorkian, Bailey Crenshaw, and Kevin Mahoney.
