PERFORMING ARTS SOCIETY GALA 2008

South Pacific Some Enchanted Evening

Gala

The Performing Arts Society Gala 2008 South Pacific Some Enchanted Evening is just around the corner on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Guests will enjoy fabulous entertainment and a delicious menu and have a chance to bid on Some Enchanted Silent Auction items. One of those items is a Week Long Holiday Dream Vacation at the Hermosa Beach, California home of Al and Andrea Boyer.

For the first time ever, for this exceptional Silent Auction item, the PAS Gala will accept bids on the Dream Vacation in advance of the Gala evening.

Week Long Holiday Dream Vacation in Southern California

You and your guests will enjoy 7 days and 6 nights at the beachfront home of Al '72 and Andrea Boyer in Hermosa Beach California.

House

The Boyer's 4,500 square foot estate home is located right on the beach of one of Southern California's renowned oceanfront locations, Hermosa Beach. With its wide, flat beach, Hermosa Beach is one of the most popular places in the world for beach volleyball and is always home to a wide variety of beach activities. Hermosa Beach will provide the "typical" Southern California beach town experience. Hermosa Beach is located just south of the Los Angeles International Airport and is convenient to the entire greater Los Angeles area.

House

The home includes four bedrooms and ocean view vistas with fireplaces, rooftop Jacuzzi, bicycles for cruising on the Strand, and is only eight blocks south of the famed Hermosa Pier Avenue and its world famous nightlife. The home sleeps 6 to 8 people comfortably and includes a barbeque along the corner of the yard facing the beachfront. The package includes use of a new 2008 Jeep Liberty (you purchase the gas!) and use of the Boyer's limousine for one event.

This package must be used within one year from purchase. Holidays are generally excluded, but may be available depending on the Boyer's schedule. The minimum bid is $2,500.

To place a bid on this incredible auction item, please call 309 298 2620. Special arrangements will be made for interested bidders to continue bidding the night of the auction.

More pictures of the Boyer home, more Silent Auction items including a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Chicago Weekend that includes Mary Poppins, and the fabulous menu for the evening, is available at http://www.wiu.edu/pas. This promises to be a fabulously enchanted evening. Don't miss it!

COMMUNICATION SHOUT OUT

microphone

The Communication Department is preparing for the First Annual Career Preparation Day on February 3, 2009. We are looking for alumni who would like to return to Western Illinois University and share their experiences with our students to help them better understand the challenges of the working world.

In particular, we are hoping that alumni will share experiences about how they prepared for their position, internships, and even interviewing/networking tips. In a challenging business environment, help from alumni can make all the difference for our current students. If you are interested in sharing your expertise with our students please email or call Cindy Ridle at (309) 298-2107 or CA-Ridle@wiu.edu.
