Theatre major Wesley Whitaker (who will graduate in December, 2008) and former student Clinton Boomer have been producing a series—45+ episodes— of short films that have become extremely popular on YouTube. The films, D&D PHB PSA—Dungeons and Dragons Players’ Hand Book Public Service Announcements—are slyly creative and very original. Of course the D&D community is no doubt their greatest audience, but even to the D&D illiterate, the films are clever and contagious. Beware the weak of heart—profanity and sexual situations abound. Their total views have now reached 741,178 and they have received fan-email from countries all over the world. Most of the actors in the videos are theatre students or recent alumni. Faculty members Christiane Morel and Bill Kincaid have also been featured.
