Christine Lorraine Jesse Klemstine, 1995 MFA, directed
The Dixie Swim Club at Apple Hill Playhouse, Delmont, PA, in May.
The Dixie Swim Club has a theme reminiscent of Neil Simon's classic comedy, "Same Time, Next Year." They both involve occasional personal encounters — one among friends, one between lovers.
Director Christine Klemstine of Delmont says that in the case of "The Dixie Swim Club," the latest offering from contemporary playwrights Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten of New York City and Asheville, N.C., "It really is a study in friendship and the way it changes and grows."

Emily Cherry, MFA 2009, will head the development of the University of North Dakota's new music theatre degree. She’ll also direct its production next March of tick, tick BOOM!

In August, Dr. Woods attended the Leadership Institute of the ATHE (Association for Theatre in Higher Education) in New York City. Dr. Woods was invited to participate as a mentor in the program. She also gave two presentations at the 2009 ATHE annual conference. One presentation was an overview of ATHE documents on tenure and promotion -- Dr. Woods is a member of a national task force working on revising the ATHE guidelines in those areas. She also chaired the session entitled "Open Up Your World: Fulbrights in Theatre" and presented on her Fulbright experience in Taiwan.
