Cangro Featured in Teaching Music Magazine
Richard Cangro appearance in the Teaching Music magazin
Rich Cangro, assistant professor School of Music, was very surprised to find a large photo of himself in an article in the August issue of
Teaching Music, the premiere publication of the National Association of Music Education.
Teaching Music Magazin
In the article "Transitions: How Music Can Build a Bridge from Middle School to High School," by Susan oliniak, teaching faculty propose strategies for
keeping kids in music programs during a very difficult time of the students' lives.
Cangro should know. Not only does he teach music education at Western but he is also the director of the Community Music School. Wynton Marsalis says his heroes are music teachers who work with kids. Rich Cangro is one of those people.
Cangro was interviewed for the article, and he says he sent a photo with the Community Youth Orchestra to be included in the article. He just didn't know the photo would appear quite so large and quite so prominently.
