Title: Assistant Professor, Voice

Assistant Professor of Music in voice. Ms. Megginson received her B.M.E. from the University of Montevallo, AL; M.M. from Florida State University; has studied at Hochschule Fur Musik, Vienna, Austria, and with Elena Nikolaidi, Todd Duncan, Ester Rethy, Mary H. Buckley, Costanza Cuccaro, and Benie Middaugh. Previously taught at Barry College, Miami, FL, University of Montevallo, AL, and at Vienna International Music Center; is listed in Outstanding Young Women of America; is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Society, Mu Phi Epsilon, and American Association of University Women. Has sung opera under the direction of Gian Carlo Menotti, Michael Pollack, and Richard Collins; with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Florida State University Symphony, and the Miami Symphony; at the National MENC Convention; and has concertized in universities throughout the Midwest and Southeast; on educational television; and with various organizations in Austria, Germany.

Has sung at International Festivals of Art Songs in master classes with Elly Ameling and Paul Sperry. As vice president of Central Illinois Chapter of NATS, she established an annual Vocal Resource Workshop for High School Choral Directors and Voice Teachers for the Illinois Music Educators State Convention. President of the Central Illinois Chapter of NATS. Has guided many state and tri-state winners in NATS student auditions as well as high scholarship winners to institutions of higher learning.
