Michael Ericson; Professor of Music (Oboe) at Western Illinois University. He holds BM and BME degrees from the University of Northern Colorado, and his MM in Oboe Performance from Indiana University. Mr. Ericson has studied oboe with Jerry Sirucek, Mark Lifschey, and Kenneth Evans. He joined the faculty at WIU in 1986 and is a member of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet. He has recorded for opus One and Crystal records, and for 26 years, served as Principal Oboist of the Peoria Symphony and Knox-Galesburg Symphony Orchestras. Mr. Ericson is a member of the International Double Reed Society and the National Association for Music Education. His arrangements of "stolen piano pieces" by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Satie and more - are available through TrevCo-Varner Music.
