Reception Wine

Pierre Delize, Burgundy, France

The color is golden yellow; the bubbles are tiny and reasonably plentiful. The nose is apple, apple, and then more apple, complemented by a touch of lemon and slight whiff of baking bread. The acidity is very well balanced. The finish is soft and subtle, but you don't know how long it lasts because you keep taking the next sip too soon.


Valley of the Moon, Glen Ellen, California

This classic Sonoma Coast Chardonnay offers alluring aromas of peach blossom and vanilla accented by citrus notes. The ripe fruit and integrated oak flavors, balanced with a touch of acidity, form a lush and long palate. Great with seafood or any light summer dish.

Bogle Chardonnay, Clarksburg, California

Generous aromas of fruit and toasty oak entice the senses as you first encounter this Chardonnay. Green apples and juicy pears give way to elegant hints of lemon meringue and finish ripe and refreshing on the palate. Created by aging on the lees, the rich and velvety mouthfeel adds complexity to the fruit, allowing the flavors to sink softly into toasty notes of American oak. The finish, lingering and graceful, is coupled by a mouth-watering acidity that creates a longing for just one more sip.

14 Hands Chardonnay, Patterson, Washington

This Chardonnay displays aromas and flavors of fresh apple with subtle hints of vanilla and buttery caramel. On the palate, notes of sweet oak and spice give way to a soft, lingering finish. Drink with seafood, salads or any light dish.

Decoy Chardonnay, Sonoma, California

This wine has enticing citrus zest, orange blossom and guava aromas with hints of banana cream pie and spicy oak. The palate is soft and velvety, offering vibrant citrus flavors intermingled with rich tropical fruit. Excellent acidity adds length and brightness to a satisfying finish.

Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay, Napa Valley, California

This Napa Valley Chardonnay offers delightfully fragrant, slightly yeasty aromas of ripe pear, apple and guava fruit complemented by hints of honeysuckle, mineral and toasted oak. Sauvignon Blanc

Lawson's Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand

Sourced from a selection of vineyard sites throughout Marlborough's Wairau Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc reflects the excellent 2001 vintage. A small portion of the blend was fermented in French barriques and underwent malolactic fermentation. Ripe gooseberry and passion fruit aromas are balanced with crisp herbal flavours, good palate weight and a long fresh finish.

Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand

Pale straw green in color with brilliant clarity, Oyster Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is zesty and aromatic with lots of lively, penetrating fruit characters. A concentration of tropical and gooseberry flavors with an abundant bouquet, it is a wine that is always crisp, elegant and refreshing. Recommended with seafood.

Sherwood Estates Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand

The Sherwood Sauvignon Blanc displays fresh, lively gooseberry, passion fruit and citrus aromas on the nose with a nice tropical note at the end resembling guava and passion fruit. The palate is structured and intense with a fresh, tropical finish. Drink with any light meal.

Duckhorn Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, California

Duckhorn's Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc features aromas of grapefruit, lemon curd and nectarine, as well as rich, underlying notes of vanilla and homemade marshmallow. A smooth-textured entry gives way to tingling acidity that shows off the citrus elements beautifully, while adding length to flavors of cantaloupe, Asian pear and Fuji apple. Clean Slate Riesling, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Germany

On the steep hills above the winding Mosel River grow the world's most celebrated Riesling vines. From their noble grapes, a crisp, refreshing and elegant wine is crafted. The balanced taste profile of Clean Slate is created by carefully selecting grapes from vineyards throughout the Mosel. Grapes from the Lower Mosel provide mineral notes, grapes from the Middle Mosel create a hint of spiciness and grapes from the Upper Mosel supply fresh, peach flavors. Honey Shale Hill, Edgebastion, South Africa

David Finlayson has crafted a blend of 74 percent Sauvignon Blanc, 15 percent Semillon and 11 percent Viognier. It's juicy, bright and tropical. The Viognier brings floral notes, and lees stirring adds a creamy texture. (That's where they stir up the dead yeast and goo at the bottom of the tank. Sounds bad but creates killer flavors and textures.) Just goes to show you what superior fruit and wine-making skill can do. Try it with spicy Asian chicken.

Sauvion Vouvray, Loire, France

Amber in its youth and gold tinged after a few years. Aromas of acacia, wallflowers and verbena. Lively and punchy in the palate, with a honey-noted finish. Wonderful aperitif or with desserts.

Chateau Suau Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux, France

This dry and dainty Bordeaux Blanc is a standout example of an often overlooked category of French white wines. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Muscadelle, this bottling is crisp, clean, and citrus-driven, featuring puckery lemon curd and white grapefruit flavors. This wine pairs well with spicy foods and full salads.

Kris Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie, Italy

Pale yellow in color with brilliant greenish reflections, enticing aromas of acacia flowers, citrus, tangerine, and hints of apricots and almonds. Kris is lean and refreshing on the palate with hints of blossom and honey. Recommended with salad, roast vegetables, risotto, lightly flavored pastas, omelets, quiches and grilled white meats or salmon.

Pinot Noir

Root 1 Pinot Noir, Casablance Valley, Chili

Ruby red with violet edges and rich aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries and a hint of cherry. Soft spice notes and vanilla add complexity. Medium-bodied and bright, the fresh acidity combines with ripe fruit flavors and smooth tannins for a well-rounded palate and lengthy finish. Serve with grilled fish, steamed mussels or fresh crab. Pairs well with traditional pasta dishes with lots of garlic, as well as roasted eggplant, barbequed chicken and spring vegetable risotto.

Chime Pinot Noir, Sonoma, California

The Chime Sonoma Pinot Noir shows a dense bright purple color as well as a nose packed with cherry kirsch, white pepper spice, fresh tilled earth, and subtle vanilla wood aromas. The mouthfeel is plump and loaded with savory fruit, finishing expansive and luscious.

Hahn Winery Pinot Noir, Monterey, California

Dark purple in the glass, this Pinot Noir shows aromas of dried plums, black currants and cola. On the palate, black cherry flavors and a silky mouthfeel build on fresh acidity and well integrated oak flavors of vanilla and spice.

Decoy Pinot Noir, Sonoma, California

This enticing wine displays lovely aromas of ripe strawberry and raspberry, as well as subtle notes of sandalwood and spice. On the palate, it is elegantly structured with abundant red fruit, excellent midpalate weight and a lingering finish with a hint of fresh earth.

Domaine Carneros Pinot Noir, Sonoma, California

This lusciously juicy Pinot Noir is redolent with raspberry and black cherry aromas and flavors enhanced with hints of smoke and exotic spice. It is medium-bodied with bright acidity and a broad richness of even-tempered tannin that stretches into a long finish. This dynamic wine can be enjoyed alone as an aperitif or matched with a diverse group of dishes such as beef, poultry, pork or grilled salmon, prepared in a variety of culinary styles.


Falesco Merlot, Umbria, Italy

One of the best of the entry-level wines in the range, this Merlot jumps from the glass with black fruit, mocha, grilled herbs and spices. This soft, voluptuous wine shows terrific balance and plenty of harmony, especially within its price range. Layers of fruit build to the creamy generous finish. Deep ruby-red in color, sensual aromas of blackberry and purple fruits complement undertones of tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, velvety tannins and a full body make for a balanced wine with a long, lingering finish.

Bogle Merlot, Clarksburg, California

On the nose, notes of tea leaf, cherry cola and earth tones add richness and depth to the first impression of the wine. Bright cherry, red currant and ripe fig mingle with toasty herbal tones, all combining to create a silky and smooth mouthfeel. To perfectly complement the fruit, the wine was aged in American oak for 12 months, creating firm tannins that balance the supple and lingering finish. Our Merlot can easily be enjoyed on its own or with a multitude of different food pairings: soft cheeses and paté, pork or pasta dishes.

Jekel Vineyards Merlot, Monterey, California

Fresh flavors such as plums, cherries, blueberries and blackberries mixed with cocoa and blackpepper tones. Medium levels of tannin and the forward fruit make for a very delicious Merlot.

Martin Ray Winery Merlot, Napa Valley, California

Intense, plum, oak, medium-bodied. Aromas of exotic spice, plums and rich supple oak lead to a palate packed with red berry fruit and chocolate notes. The generous flavors echo perfectly to a deep and elegant finish. Excellent with grilled lamb chops.

Rombauer Merlot, Carneros, California

Deep ruby color with a crimson hue. Subtle nuances of cherry and mint aromas support an abundance of mulberry and plum fruit. A soft and supple bouquet of lush plum, cedar and hints of blackberry are framed with silky tannins. Blueberry essence builds on the back palate for a smooth finish.

Meeker Handprint Merlot, Sonoma, California

This Merlot is a powerhouse, with fruit, tannin and complexity that stands up to your most muscular steak and risotto dinner or evening spent watching the stars come out. The beautiful package is no match for the gorgeous wine within rich cherry fruit and big, intense tannins and flavor. This wine will stay bottle stable and age for at least a decade, or make a beautiful centerpiece to your Thanksgiving, Hanukkah or Christmas table. Big structure, a touch of oak, and every ounce of two years in barrel shine through with a full body and rich mouthfeel.

Syrah and Shiraz

Fat Bastard Shiraz, France

A seductive red. A powerful nose of dark berries, licorice and a touch of smooth oak. Generous on the palate with a robust body and notes of blackcurrant, spice and vanilla complimented by smooth, ripe tannins. A perfect match with red meat, lamb, spicy foods and full-bodied cheeses.

Rosenbloom Vintners Cuvee Syrah, California

A full-bodied wine with incredible depth and layers of black fruit, smoke, lavender, herbes de Provence, and a silky touch of vanilla bean that adds to the beautiful finish. This is a great food wine; equally at home with pizza and burgers as it is with steak or veal chops.

Schild Estates Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia

Ruby red with purple hues. A nose of rich ripe blackcurrants, dark morello cherries and clove spice. Plush, soft berry fruits and flavors of dark chocolate and mocha are supported by a fine tannin framework and hints of dry roasted nuts derived from some well balanced and integrated oak presence.

Tait "The Ball Buster" Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia

Blended of 75% Shiraz, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, this 2011 “The Ball Buster” is deep garnet-purple in color with fragrant black currant, crushed black berry and violet aromas plus hints of black pepper, mulberries and spice box. Full-bodied with a good amount of toast and vanilla flavors coming through to compliment the black fruits on the palate, it has a medium level of rounded tannins and lively acid, finishing long.

Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Ridge Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia

Red/purple in color. A lifted nose of clean blackberry fruit accompanied by cedar wood characters, the oak elements are complex and layered with mocha and spices. The palate shows sweet fruit characters dominated by blackberry and plum, complimented by sweet Indian spices. The sweet fruit characters are balanced by interesting savory elements adding to the complexity. The mid-weight palate is complimented by fine-grained tannins and great length of savory fruit and oak.

Earthquake Petite Sirah, Lodi, California

A gigantic mouthful of sinewy tannins, Earthquake Petite is big and generously loaded with dark plum and raspberry flavors. A highway of bittersweet chocolate and tar circle through the sizeable finish. Drink it with rich, hearty food.


Bogle Winery Zinfandel, Clarksburg, California Spicy and bold, this wine smells of fresh, ripe fruit and Malabar pepper, with the first impressions enticing you to take a sip. On the palate, flavors of homemade raspberry jam simmering on the stove abound. Surrounded by vanilla bean, juniper, and toasty oak tones, this wine is well balanced through and through. R&B Cellars Swingsville Zinfandel, Contra Costa & Napa Valley, California

The wonderful fresh berry fruit from Rogers Vineyard combines with the smooth French and American oak flavors to achieve a super harmony in the bouquet and taste. The Rogers Zinfandel and Barbera, and the Napa Valley Petite Sirah combine to create a zesty complexity, a deep gorgeous color complexity and a soft mouthfeel. The Petite Sirah enhances the structure and color of the wine and punches up the darker berry fruit character in the wine. The bouquet shows fresh strawberry and raspberry with hints of pepper and spice. The flavors are ripe berry with creamy cherries and an elegant spicy aftertaste.

Zin Your Face, California

A bold, spicy, jammy, and yummy zinfandel that is quintessential California. Hailing predominantly from Lodi, this Zinfandel is classic Old Vine with a Zin-berry nose. Black cherry, raspberry and molten chocolate come together in a perfect finish.

7 Deadly Zins, Lodi, California

Fresh, raspberry, medium-bodied. A sinful blend indeed! A vibrant, sweet bouquet of raspberry jam, molasses and cinnamon toast evoke the senses of carefree youthful nights. Excellent oak integration provides silken tannins and spice to pair with Lodi's unrestricted wild berry fruit.

BoneShaker Zinfandel, Lodi, California

This big, bold and intense Zinfandel is the fourth vintage in line to earn the name Boneshaker. Grown from sustainably farmed vineyards in Lodi, this Zinfandel was fermented in new French oak barrels for an additional layer of complexity, while a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the structure of the final blend. This wine boasts flavors ranging from macerated blackberry and plum jam to sweet dark chocolate set against a velvety mouthfeel and a richly satisfying finish. This wine's virtues are evident on its own, but it ascends to new heights when paired with a roast porchetta sandwich or Texas style chuck chili.

Frog's Leap Zinfandel, Napa Valley, California

The aromatics of this classic field blend present a delightful challenge to the nose. Not exactly fresh fruit and not really jam, either. Rather, it's like a bunch of summer fruit—strawberry, raspberry, fig, and huckleberry—all conserved together in one aromatic package. It's sophisticated in the depth of its aroma profile and fun at the same time. The flavors are a big surprise as well, no jammy sweetness. Instead the wine is taut, refined and reminiscent of a very fine Tuscan Chianti and absolutely the right counterpoint to the aromas. This wine promises great things for sophisticated culinary efforts a few years down the line, but in the meantime you'll love it with this summer's barbeques.

Classic French

Col Des Vents Corbieres Rouge, France

Elegant, blueberry, red fruit, medium-bodied. This lush blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah is filled with notes of blueberry, plum and spice. A delicious example of Corbieres, whose vineyards are cooled by the night breezes off the hills, giving balance and richness to the Rhone-style wines.

Les Hauts De La Brune, Languedoc, France

Good color, with earthy old wood character over dry black currant and blackberry; medium full to full bodied, with good depth and structure. Not quite chewy and a little astringent on the finish. A year or three won't hurt this, but neither will pairing it with grilled red meats or a hearty stew.

Chateau de Segries Cotes du Rhone Rouge, Rhone Valley, France

Deep and dark red. Shiny. Aromas of fresh fruits with red berries and spices. Full, round and racy. Rounded and smooth tannins. A full-bodied, rich and intensely aromatic wine. Offers a roasted feel, with dark bramble, plum and tobacco notes accented by hints of pastis and apple wood, leading to a ganache and charcoal-infused finish. Distinctive in feel, revealing a prominent yet integrated woodsy element.

Domaine de Regusse Pinot Noir, Luberon, France

Aged in oak barrels is delicate, supple and smooth with herbal, cherry and raspberry flavors. A 100% Pinot Noir that tastes like a light red Burgundy. Don't expect a grand cru-like texture or nuance, but this medium-bodied Pinot Noir has plenty of raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with damp earth and roasted herbs. The fact that it can be found at this price point is remarkable.

Cabirau Serger & Tony Grenache, Languedoc-Roussillion, France

Cabirau Serger & Tony Grenache has an exuberant nose of ripe black raspberry that is mingled with mint and smoked meat. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up for in sheer, mouth-filling generosity of fruit, and a smooth, lip-smacking finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Ugly Duckling Cabernet Sauvignon, California

Fresh, cherry, chocolate, medium-bodied. A fresh young wine from Courtney Benham and Martin Ray Winery, bursting with rich black cherry, berry, and milk chocolate flavors, with just a hint of oak. A smooth texture, velvety tannins and a long, spicy finish. Great with food or perfect just for sipping.

Root 1 Cabernet Sauvignon, Colchagua Valley, Chili

Deep garnet in color with bright reflections. Aromas of ripe berries, cassis, plum and dark cherry, followed by light toast notes. Juicy red berry and mocha flavors with a full-bodied structure, balanced by smooth tannins and a lengthy finish. Root 1 Cabernet pairs well with grilled steak or a hearty meat sauce pasta. The ripe full-bodied flavors also complement roasted vegetables and spicy soups. A delightful match to chocolate desserts!

Cigar Box Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Maipo Valley, Chili

Full bodied, with dark deep ruby color, this Cabernet packs some inspiration. Vanilla, tobacco, dark ripe fruits, prunes, toasted oak, and spices all describe this Cab. All of these flavors seem well balanced and finish is smooth and lingering. Drink this wine with good friends and good food.

Sterling Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

Brimming with style and elegance, our Cabernet Sauvignon offers generous dark fruit and toasty spices. The nose is a heady mix of cedar, tobacco and oak spices over briary black fruits. In the mouth, flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum and mulberries unfold with supple ease, influenced by a small amount of Merlot, which fleshes out the mid-palate and lends lovely red tones. A lively acidity picks up on the back of the palate as the dark fruit flavors exit with a peppery finish.

Smith & Hook Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Santa Lucia Highlands, California

This big Cabernet has bold dark fruit flavors and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Bold aromas rise out of the glass, recalling blackberries and black cherry cola supported by hints of spicy cloves. A rich texture on the palate supported by supple tannins make this wine a perfect combination of finesse and power. Fine grained tannins on the finish give this Cabernet Sauvignon a dryness that nicely complements its broad mouthfeel and lush flavors.

Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

This vintage has yielded a lush and appealing expression of Decoy Cabernet with alluring black cherry and raspberry jam aromas, as well as more subtle notes of nutmeg, spice and chocolate. On the palate, lovely layers of raspberry and plum are supported by excellent structure and seamlessly integrated oak. Blend: 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.

Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

A mild growing season yielded a fruit-driven wine with soft tannins. Deep purple color, nearly black at its core with a crimson hue. Tobacco, black currant, black olive and plum aromas radiate from the glass. Dark berry fruit unfold across the palate adding weight and dimension. Hints of spice and raspberry build on the back palate for a smooth finish. Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot.

Other Reds

Raymond "R" Field Blend #3, California

R Collection Field Blend is a complement to any occasion, whether a casual dinner at home or a more formal gathering with friends and family. This medium-to-full bodied wine offers firm, juicy tannins and bright acidity. The nose reveals the seductive fruit aromas of ripe raspberry, cherries and blackberry. The palate rewards with delicious flavors of red currant, fresh-picked blueberries and ground white peppercorn before culminating with a lengthy finish that displays exceptional balance and a velvety texture.

Tiziano Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

This is a harmonious wine with the berry and violet scent of the Sangiovese and the soft smooth texture that the Caniolo brings. Tiziano Chianti is a versatile wine that will go well with pasta and red sauce yet has enough body and character to accompany grilled meat dishes.

Barista Pinotage, Paarl, South Africa

Intense on the nose, with a bouquet of coffee, chocolate and cherry, with meaty, savoury hints. The tannins are ripe, perfectly suiting the round and mouth-filling plum and mulberry fruit.

Edgebaston Pepper Pot, Stellenbosch, South Africa

This wine is all about fresh, bright fruit and spicy flavors. The color is youthful and red/purple. Fresh berry coulis, crushed white pepper and dark mulberry scents on the nose. Pure red berry flavors flow onto a smooth palate with some crisp acid and tannin backbone delivering a smack of lively berry flavors wrapped up in the slightest hint of vanilla.

Montecillo Rioja, Rioja, Spain

Fresh, red fruits, medium-bodied. Fragrant aromas and flavors of cedar, spicy vanilla and sweet, jammy red and black fruits are the hallmarks of this supple red. Produced from the Tempranillo grape, this is a versatile food wine and a great value! Enjoy with spicy dishes, paella, and beef stew.

Battle Ax Malbec, Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina

Battle Axe Malbec color is an attractive dark cherry-red with violet hues. Displaying great intensity fruity aromas of cherries, blackberries and plums stand out against a background of fine toasty hints from ageing in top-quality oak. Warm, intense and well-structured on the palate, with an explosion of fruit flavors underscored by light oaky notes. With its deep, inky-red color and intense, complex flavor—particularly the distinct taste of plum—Battle Axe Malbec has notes of blackberry, pepper, tobacco and leather. The wine's robust tannins make it perfect for pairing with steak.

Bodegas Volver La Mancha Tempranillo, Spain

Saturated ruby color. This wine has a strikingly aromatic nose that offers a pungent array of fruit, floral and herbal scents. Sweet cherry-vanilla and cola flavors coat the palate and are enlivened by juicy acidity. Supple tannins gain strength on the finish, which strongly repeats the cola and floral qualities.

Dessert Wines

Toschi Vineyards Pink Moscato, California

Delightfully sweet with lush fruity aromas. Hints of citrus skip across flavors of juicy melon flavors with a kiss of sweetness in the finish. A bright, crisp finish dances in at the end. It's a bit sweeter than a Riesling.

Rinaldi ReDream Malvasia Frizzante, Piedmont, Italy

Gorgeously fresh and frothy, with loads of cherry, honeysuckle, spice box and spring flowers, this is an exciting party wine that is brilliantly packaged, and I doubt a person can be found who would dislike it.

D'Altieri Moscato d' Asti, Rheinhessen, Germany

Yellow straw color with gold reflections. Deliciously sweet with delicate honey and peach aftertaste with a slight spritz. The intense flavors and lingering finish complements a variety of cheeses, fruits, richly seasoned foods and desserts.

Warre's Late Vintage Port, Douro Valley, Portugal

Medium red. Smoky, high-toned aromas of cassis, marzipan and maple syrup. Smooth, fat and super ripe, with a generous texture and ample balancing acidity. Fresh late vintage port but not at all aggressive. Try this port with cheese, rich chocolate desserts or dark chocolate.

Special Release

Duckhorn Merlot 2010, Napa Valley, California

With firm tannins and exceptional length, this is a lovely and age-worthy wine that shows how much Merlot can excel in a cooler growing season.
