Onnica received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at Northern Illinois University. In addition to art history, I enjoy learning about anthropology and history.

I started out as an intern at Flagg Township Museum in Rochelle, Illinois and was promoted to assistant curator. Better suiting my interests, I became an intern at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa.

I always enjoyed going to museums as a child with my mother. Even then, I was aware of the power of objects on display. They have a fascinating story to tell and it is the job of the curator to share that story.

I chose to pursue a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies at Western Illinois University because of their excellent program and their close relationships with many museums in the Quad Cities.
