JH Band Camp (Grades 6-8)

Camp Director: Mark Donahue

Campers will have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of exciting literature while enhancing their musicianship skills along the way. Junior High Band Camp will include sectionals, technique classes, and special interest sessions on topics such as conducting, what to listen for in music, composition, and more. Seating auditions will be held on the first day of camp. On the final day, families and friends are encouraged to join us for the culminating performance.

JH Band Camp Director: Mark Donahue


Mark Donahue is currently in his sixth year teaching in O’Fallon, and fifth as Director of Bands in O’Fallon Community Consolidated School District 90. In District 90, Mr. Donahue teaches the 6th and 8th grade bands. In addition, he teaches and oversees the 5th grade beginning band program and conducts the Symphonic Winds, an auditioned ensemble that meets twice per week.

Mr. Donahue holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Illinois State University, completing his student teaching at O’Fallon Township High School in the spring of 2013 with Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds. Mark completed his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from McKendree University in 2016. He was also a member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps from 2008-2012, serving as Drum Major for his final three seasons. During the summer, he teaches Colts Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Dubuque, IA.
