He and Mr. Empey will have much to offer our leadership campers this summer!

Marching Band Leadership Camp will focus on being a leader in marching band with emphasis on marching fundamentals, block band drill exhibitions, conducting styles, innovation in salutes, leadership and motivation, aiding the band director, squad competitions and evaluations, multiple drum majors, parade and field commands, and special drill routine exhibitions.

There will be no auditions for this camp.

In preparation for this year's inaugural residency of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, the WIU Leadership Camp will merge with the Concert Band Camp (June 21-26th) to create a hybrid camp experience. Participates will perform on their primary instrument with the band and receive private conducting lessons with WIU Staff during afternoon sessions. We anticipate a revitalized leadership camp, with possibly participation from the Phantom Regiment in 2020.

For pertinent information related to this hybrid camp, please contact Dr. Fansler directly. (MJ-Fansler@wiu.edu)
