Lin Stults Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Lin Stults to provide financial assistance to deserving students to attend the Western Illinois University Summer Music Institute. Lin Stults began her professional career in Macomb in 1979 when she opened "Engraving by Lin" on the historic downtown square in Macomb. Lin has been an active member of the Macomb community and an advocate for both the arts and athletics in Macomb and at Western Illinois University. Her desire in creating this scholarship is simply to benefit local McDonough County school children desiring to enhance their talents through the WIU Summer Music Institute.

Lin created this scholarship in memory of her nephew, Austin Stults who perished in an automobile accident at the age of 25. Austin was a music lover and played the guitar in a garage band. Lin also was inspired to create this award by her son, Ted Renner, a popular local musician who co-founded the rock group Hong Kong Sleepover.

This scholarship will be initially funded as an annual scholarship with 5-year pledge from Lin Stults.
