Tune of the Week

Listening is one of most important activities of every musician – aspiring or professional. Every student in the WIU Trombone & Euphonium Studio is encouraged to devote at least as much time each week to listening to great music and great performers as they spend practicing their instruments. “Tune of the Week” is an assignment designed not only to expose students to the great works of western music, but also to help students listen more actively and “below the surface” to aspects of music such as form, structure, harmony, orchestration and style.
