Beyonce to perform at Super Bowl
“Irreplaceable,” “Single Ladies,” and “If I Were a Boy” are all hit singles by the national pop star, Beyonce. But now she’s taking her fame to a whole new level… the Super Bowl. The NFL has officially announced that Beyonce will perform during the Halftime Show on February 3.
However, we have seen her at the Super Bowl before. In 2004, she sang the National Anthem in her hometown of Houston when the Patriots defeated the Panthers. Super Bowl XLVII is scheduled for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
Beyonce is expected to keep it a little more PG than last year’s performers. Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, and LMFAO all kicked off last year’s halftime performance. Although Beyonce is headlining the show, there is no word yet on whether or not there will be guest appearances.
Beyonce is the first performer since Britney Spears in 2001 to be a modern pop star. This is the first time a Super Bowl will be held in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. U2 was the halftime band the last time the Super Bowl was played there.
