Walk for Wishes Coming to Western October 5th
Coming October 5th is “Walk for Wishes” sponsored by the sorority Chi Omega. This event will be held out at Hanson Field that Saturday to raise money to help to critically ill children. All proceeds go towards the Make a Wish Foundation to help grant children wishes. Chi Omega has been working with the foundation since 2001 and has help raise over eight million dollars for the foundation. Along with the eight million dollars raised, Chi Omega has also volunteered over 500,000 hours worth of service towards the foundation.
WIU’s chapter of Chi Omega helped grant two wishes last year by raising more than $10,000. This year the sorority will be raising its goal to $10,000 from last years $5,000. This goal will help another two children have their wishes granted. Registration will begin at nine A.M. and the walk will begin at 10 A.M.
