Bird in Macomb Tests Positive for West Nile Virus
The McDonough County Health Department has confirmed that it found a bird that tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
Environmental Health Sanitarian Jake Van Heuklom said the bird was found in Macomb, the first such case reported in the county.
Van Heuklom confirmed that the bird was found near the campus of the Western Illinois University.
The Health Department has not given specifics of the location of where the bird was found.
