Jamie Lee Hunzinger was honored this spring by being selected as the Honors Convocation Speaker.
The Department of Communication is proud to have had Jamie as one of their majors. She is graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication as well as Philosophy and minored in Pre-Law and Spanish. Jamie was awarded many scholarships at Western Illinois, including the Mary Olive Woods Scholarship and Wayne N. Thompson Scholar Award in her majors as well as the Centennial Honors College Senior Scholarship and the student Alumni Association Scholarship.
As a campus leader, Ms. Hunzinger was active in many student organizations. In particular, she served as vice president for the campus chapter of Lambda Pi Eta in Communication, for the Student Honors Association, and the Western Chapter of Golden Key International. She was also Student Council Representative in the Department of Philosophy and Public Relations Chair for Legal Associates of Western. Most notably, she was chief organizer and charter president of the campus chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, the national law and pre-law fraternity.
Jamie’s address, “Fare The Well”, was exceptional. Best wishes Jamie!
