Milan Native To Board
Illinois Governor George Ryan has announced the appointment of
Theodore "Ted" Brunsvold, director of legislative
and regulatory affairs for Greenberg Traurig, LLP Chicago office,
to the WIU Board of Trustees.
A native of Milan, Brunsvold served as government
affairs director of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association (1998-2000).
He also served as communications coordinator and research/appropriations
analyst for the Illinois House of Representatives, office of Speaker
Michael J. Madigan (1996-1998) and on the Illinois House Democratic
Majority Committee (1994-1996). He is a graduate of the University
of Illinois Springfield and is currently attending John Marshall
Law School.
"We are delighted that an individual
with a clear understanding of the governmental process in Illinois
has been selected to provide valuable leadership in public higher
education," said President Donald S. Spencer. Brunsvold
was named to serve the remainder of the term vacated by C.
Robert Leininger, who resigned. The appointment must be confirmed
by the Illinois Senate.
