of Trustees Approves Insurance, Elects Officers
Western’s Board of Trustees approved the student
insurance fee and elected officers at its June 14 meeting.
A student health insurance fee of $36.17
per month to maintain the current insurance coverage program with
the existing provider for six months was approved by Board. In
that time period the Board will continue review of a self-insurance
program plan for Western student health insurance coverage.
The Board re-elected the current officers
to serve terms for the upcoming year. Zack Stamp of New
Berlin was elected as chairperson for the fiscal year July
1, 2003 to June 30, 2004. Stamp, a 1975 Western graduate,
is president of Zack Stamp, Ltd. Attorneys at Law in Springfield.
He is also president of the Pleasant Plains School Board.
J. Michael Houston, Springfield,
was elected vice chairperson. Houston works at Bank One, Illinois,
as a senior vice president responsible for the investment management
group in the central Illinois region.
Dace Richardson, Wheaton, was elected
secretary of the Board. Richardson is an Engagement Leader for
Ingersoll-Rand Corporation, Global Consulting Group. He has a
bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Western,
a master’s degree in industrial technology from Illinois State
University and a MBA from DePaul University.
Other members of Western’s Board of Trustees
include Carolyn Ehlert, Milan, director of Public Policy
Planning for Deere and Company, Moline; Lorraine Epperson,
a graduate of Western, and co-owner and operator of Century 21
Purdum-Epperson, Macomb; George Guzzardo, a Macomb business
owner and president of Guzzardo Enterprises, Inc., which distributes
newspapers in five western Illinois counties; Theodore “Ted”
Brunsvold of Chicago, and Trish K. Hammond, Macomb,
a senior marketing major who was elected by the student body for
a second term as student trustee.
