Thomas named 11th President of Western Illinois University
Jack Thomas, provost and academic vice president at Western Illinois University, has been named the University's 11th president, effective July 1, it was
announced by the Board of Trustees on Jan. 18, the first day of the Spring 2011 semester.
BOT Approves Phase II of Steam Line Project
The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees recently approved a bid for Phase II of the steam line project near Western Hall and for the steam line project between Simpkins and Corbin-Olson halls. More information can be found in

Western Again Recognized for Commitment to Community
Western was recently selected for The Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification. The University is one of three Illinois public universities to receive the distinction.

Celebration Concert: Ernie HendricksonĀ
Tri States Public Radio's Celebration Concert Series will present Ernie Hendrickson
at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22. Songs from his self-released first solo record, "Down The Road," earned merits from Mountain Stage's new song contest, and landed him a showcase at Toronto's NXNE, sister fest to SXSW in the U.S.

Pay It Forward Blood Drive Jan. 31
Take the opportunity to "Pay It Forward" and donate blood at Western Illinois University on Monday, Jan. 31. Interested individuals can make an appointment by calling Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800) 747-5401. Walk-ins are welcome after 11 a.m. More information is available here.
Opportunity to Participate in Exercise/Nutrition Study
