WIU Re-Accreditation Announced
The Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association of College and Schools announced Sept. 6 that Western Illinois University has been reaccredited for 10 years.
Provost Search Update
Based on phone interview and reference checks, candidates for the WIU provost and vice president for academic affairs will be invited to campus to participate in an extensive interview process.
Enrollment Update: Fall '11
Western Illinois University's Fall 2011 new freshman enrollment has increased by nearly 200 students, while total enrollment for the University is down 31 students from Fall 2010 according to 10-day enrollment reports.
WIU Homecoming 2011 Sept. 30-Oct.1
With the theme "Past, Present and Future: Once a Leatherneck, Always a Leatherneck," Western's 2011 Homecoming Weekend will take place Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

Western Walks-a-Thon
The Fall 2011 Western Walks-a-Thon will include healthy snacks (provided by Hy-Vee); prizes (awarded every hour); and is open free to all WIU faculty and staff members.
Wear Pink Reminder / Sign up for Big Pink
Campus Recreation staff encourages all WIU employees to wear pink on Tuesdays throughout October, and to register a team for the Big Pink Volleyball Fundraiser, to raise breast cancer awareness.
