Community Counseling Program
The community counseling track prepares students for careers as professional counselors. Professional counselors provide counseling services at colleges, hospitals, mental health agencies, rehabilitation facilities, corporations, correctional institutions, and private practice to empower people to make positive decisions about their lives, negotiate life transitions, solve problems, and adapt to change. The community counseling track offers a solid foundation in lifespan development; career development; social and cultural diversity; individual, group, couple, and family relationships; psychopathology; diagnosis and treatment planning; addictions; ethical/legal concerns; as well as practicum and internship experiences.
