Education NewsPassage of APT to become requirement for student teaching. Effective Spring 2008, all student teaching candidates must pass the APT exam in order to pass student teaching. This policy was approved by the University Teacher Education Committee (UTEC) at its April 17, 2007, meeting.

For those candidates who experience difficulties in passing this exam, a remediation procedure is available. Details about remediation are available in the Center for the Preparation of Education Professionals, Horrabin Hall 91.

Student Teaching in Chicago suburbs: Candidates wishing to student teach in the suburban Chicago area should be advised that a minimum GPA of 3.0 is necessary.  Questions should be directed to Mrs. Jackie Richmond in Horrabin 91, 298-2117.
