Donna Quesal joined the WIU faculty in 1991 as a clinical supervisor, and has served the program as an instructor, interim clinic coordinator, and assistant professor since that time.  Ms Quesal teaches undergraduate courses: Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders, Augmentative Communication, and Fluency & Voice Disorders.  She supervises clinical students with adult clients who have developmental disabilities at the sheltered workshop in Macomb, as well as a variety of disorder types across the lifespan in the WIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.  She serves on the WIU Institutional Review Board, and departmental committees.  In addition to a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and Illinois state licensure, Ms Quesal trained as an Illinois Early Intervention provider.  Ms Quesal provides consultation to area schools, agencies and individuals regarding augmentative communication on request. 

Ms Quesal earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Northern Iowa (1969), and a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from University of Iowa (1982).  She worked as a first grade teacher in Cedar Rapids, IA, and as a speech language pathologist in the Mississippi Bend AEA, Davenport, IA, at the North Dakota School for the Blind, Grand Forks, ND, and the Head Start programs around Plattsburgh, NY, prior to coming to WIU.
