The Kappa Omicron Nu Scholarship is awarded each year to a Kappa Omicron Nu, Beta Chapter  member in good standing.  Recipients will be selected by the Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising, and Hospitality Scholarship Committee on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and service.  The scholarship winner will be announced at the Student Recognition Reception in the Spring.  A completed application, a copy of your transcript, and two letters of recommendation from faculty must be submitted.

Application must be turned into the DFMH Department by March 1.

CRITERIA:

1. 3.00 GPA
2. KONu member for at least one semester prior to application
3. Shows Leadership, Service and Scholarship
4. Full-time DFMH major or at least 12 sh. during the semester.  Promise of graduation
5. Additional activities will be noted

TERMS:

$500 first year; must reapply each year.
No student can receive more than two departmental scholarships in one year.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Final selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee of the Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising, and Hospitality in March for the next academic year.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

This scholarship will be given in honor of KONu Honor society and from the Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising, and Hospitality.  Students must show promise of graduation and Leadership, Service and Scholarship in the department and university especially the Phon-a-thon held in March each year.
 

IS THIS AWARD OR SCHOLARSHIP RENEWABLE?  Only through application each year.

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR RENEWABILITY?  Student must maintain a GPA of 3.00 or higher.  Student must apply each year for renewal.  Application will be re-evaluated along with those of other applicants.
