Degrees at a Distance Program for Firefighters BGS Degree
A Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree may be right for you whether you are pursuing your first or second bachelor’s degree. Learn more about WIU’s BGS Program. Firefighters are the one exception to the restriction against individuals with regionally accredited bachelor’s degrees entering the BGS degree program to pursue a second bachelor’s degree.
Minor in Fire Administration
To obtain a minor in fire administration, students have two options: 1) Complete all core Degrees at a Distance Program (DDP) courses plus either one of the concentrations 30 (sh) or 2) Complete 18 (sh) including the following four courses: LEJA 306, 310, 483, and 486 and two DDP course electives. The minor is not available for students pursuing a second bachelor's degree.
