New Online Course Development Process

Dear Campus Community

Recently, the Provost has given me the charge to oversee Distance Learning at Western Illinois University. For the past several weeks members of the campus community have been working to streamline the online course development process, identify standards, and secure resources to develop new quality online courses at Western Illinois University.

Utilizing the best resources that WIU has to offer in a collaborative effort, a new process has been approved. Attached you will find a unified effort of support from the School of Extended Studies, the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research (CITR) and the Center for Application of Information Technologies (CAIT).

With this letter I am announcing the launch of this initiative. This is a very big forward step as all future WIU online courses now have a structured path toward development.
