Please note, your instructor may use different timelines. These dates are supplied only as a rudimentary guide.

Spring 2008

Online Courses

  1. November 1, 2007 – Advanced registration begins.
  2. November 19, 2007 – Open registration begins.
  3. January 14, 2008 – Spring semester begins.
  4. January 18, 2008 – Last day to add course during open registration.
  5. January 28, 2008 - Last day to add by permission or delete a course.
  6. March 30, 2008 - Last day to drop course with a “W” grade.
  7. May 7, 2008 - Last day for students to take exams in the Distance Education office.  If taking exams at the Quad Cities campus exams must be completed by 11:00 a.m.
  8. May 9, 2008 - Last day to submit course requirements to graduate in May or have grade recorded on transcript by end of spring semester.

Print-based Courses

  1. November 1, 2007 – Advanced registration begins

  7. May 9, 2008 – Last day to drop course with “W” grade.
  8. July 30, 2008 – Last day to take exams in the Distance Education office.  If taking exams at the Quad Cities campus exams must be completed by 11:00 a.m.
  9. August 1, 2008 – Incomplete changed to F if course requirements have not been submitted.

Summer 2008

Online Courses

  1. June 3, 2008 - Last day to register students without special permission of instructor.
  2. June 9, 2008 - Last day to register students. Last day to withdraw from one or more online courses without receiving a "W" on transcript.
  3. July 3, 2008 - Last day to drop classes or make a total university withdrawal without academic penalty (tuition payable)
  4. July 23, 2008 - Last day for students to take summer online exam in the Distance Learning office. If taking exams at the Quad Cities campus exams must be completed by 11:00 a.m.
  5. July 25, 2008 - Instructors must have all requirements by this date (including exams).

Print-based Courses

  1. June 9, 2008 - Last day to register.
  2. July 12, 2008 – Last day to withdraw from one or more print-based courses without receiving a "W" on transcript.
  3. September 19, 2008 - Last day to drop classes or make a total university withdrawal without academic penalty (tuition payable).
  4. December 1, 2008 - Last day for student to take exam in the Distance Learning office. If taking exams at the Quad Cities Campus exams must be completed by 11:00 a.m.

Fall 2008

  2. October 4, 2008 – Last day to withdraw from one or more print-based courses without receiving a "W" on transcript.
  3. December 16, 2008 - Last day to drop classes or make a total university withdrawal without academic penalty (tuition payable).
  4. March 1, 2009 - Last day for student to take exam in the Distance Learning office. If taking exams at the Quad Cities Campus exams must be completed by 11:00 a.m.

Orientation Info

Some programs offer an Online Orientation. You are strongly encouraged to complete the online orientation shortly after you have been accepted into a program. The orientation programs are designed to familiarize you with your new program.
