Arsen Melkumian joined the department in the fall of 2005 after receiving his Ph.D. in economics and MS in mathematics from West Virginia University. Specializing in time series analysis and international economics, his current research is focused on forecasting exchange rates using ARIMA models, neural networks, and intervention models. Dr. Melkumian has published in the Eastern Economic Journal and the Journal of CENTRUM Cathedra. He is also writing a textbook on mathematical economics.
