Undergraduate Advisory Track System

In an effort to provide economics majors with courses recognizing their diverse interests and needs, the department has developed several outlines of study. The purpose of these "tracks" is to provide economics majors with guidance based on career goals. It should be emphasized that these "tracks" are presented only as recommendations and do not prohibit students from developing other degree plans more in keeping with their unique needs. By working with your advisor, a faculty mentor, or the department chair, other degree plans can be developed.

Advisory Tracks

In developing these tracks, the economics department has given major attention to preparing its graduates for specific careers. Given the broad applicability of economics, it is difficult to develop a program for every career opportunity in advance. If you have specific questions about the track system at Western, or need assistance in developing your own track, please contact the Department Chair.
