  • Responsibilities:

    Self-driven data management; independent work effort is required; retrieves and distributes data; establishes, reviews and revises existing programs and procedures; recommends changes or alternative methods and policy; conducts research ;tests systems; develops new procedures and programs and implements systems and solutions for operational needs.

    An IT Technical Associate in Alumni Programs typically:

    1. Develop, manage, maintain and distribute data
      1. Intermediate programming
      2. Intermediate data retrieval and analysis
      3. Data distribution
      4. Research and analyze existing policies, operations and procedures
      5. Recommend improvement of methods or procedures
      6. Coordinate with Administrative Information Management Systems to manage and revise database
      7. Collect and maintain data then perform analysis and follow-up studies
      8. Incorporate procedures to ensure accuracy of results, integrity and security of data
      9. Confer with various users to determine need and feasibility for enhancements and revisions
      10. Research, test and recommend new products
      11. Train staff on database; answers questions and acts on request on procedural or system issues
      12. Establishes and maintains documentation for new and existing applications; develops manuals
      13. Authorizes access to database
      14. Reviews, revises and tests all areas of database
    2. Develops, manage, maintain and distribute data to external agencies

    Tools and Technical Knowledge

    1. Mainframe and PC operating systems
    2. Intermediate Easytrieve programming
    3. Basic TSO programming
    4. Secure FTP tools
    5. Desktop navigation and applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
    6. Basic Dreamweaver and web applications
  • Required Qualifications:
    1. Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
      1. Progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
      2. College course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
        • 60 semester hours or Associate’s Degree equals one year
        • 90-120 semester hours or Bachelor’s Degree equals two years
    2. 6 months experience in extracting data from databases such as Easytrieve
