- Responsibilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inspect proposed work site, gather notes, sketches, measurements, existing conditions, and present
findings as needed.
2. Prepare cost estimates and schedules based on the engineering and architectural specifications relating to
the project.
3. Issue work orders, schedule work to be completed by outside contractors, and inspect progress of work as
completed.
4. Discuss the on-going work schedules and the progress of the project with the department requesting said
work, identifying and assisting in the resolution as problems arise.
5. Monitor job costs, initiate and evaluate any project change orders and evaluate pay requests. Notify user
of additional costs to project when required.
6. Inspect daily work performed by contractors on construction and remodeling projects.
7. Assist in evaluating projects as they are completed. Provide list of items on punch list and notify contractor
of things that still need completed or corrected.
8. Review plans that have been designed by others to develop a schedule and to check and verify the plans
comply with building codes as well as university guidelines.
9. Assist in maintaining campus construction project database – Drawings and Records for maintenance
purposes.
10. Prepare drawings for construction work from sketches and notes from site to complete project.
11. Responsible for maintaining and updating campus prints, organizing print room, and overseeing the
transition to digital media. - Required Qualifications:
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
- work experience in construction management, building project management or a closely related field.
- college coursework in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- One (1) year (12 months) of building construction management and/or building project management experience.
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
- Starting Salary: $3,905/month
