Journalism Day, Fall 2007
Guest speaker: Linda Jones, Roosevelt University
We'll be hosting area high school newspaper students on Friday, Nov. 2, in the University Union. The event runs from 9 a.m. till about 1 p.m. Visitors will have the chance to tour the Courier newspaper as well as broadcast campus media sites; they'll be treated to skills workshops offered by some of our seven journalism faculty members; and they'll hear and discuss tensions that arise over covering controversial issues in high school media from a university researcher whose niche is assessing the state of scholastic journalism.
