Assistant Professor
20th & 21st century American Literature & Film; Religion & Science; Ethnicity & Gender
PhD
Everett Hamner earned Master's degrees at Johns Hopkins and Regent College (U of British Columbia) before a PhD at Iowa. His articles may be found in Religion and Literature (forthcoming), Modern Fiction Studies, The Iowa Journal of Cultural Studies, The New Utopian Politics of Ursula K. Le Guin's The Dispossessed, Renascence, and Christianity and Literature. When not teaching or writing about literary and filmic engagements with religion and science, he depends on adventures with his wife Jennifer, son Aidan, and daughter Rowan to expand his sense of postsecular irony. (The Jesus Phone photo to the right is courtesy of Chicago's Navy Pier and its stained-glass exhibit, in case you were wondering).
