Cashing Checks

Students may cash personal checks up to $100 per day and Money Orders up to $300 at the University Union Service Center. A 50 cent service fee is charged.

Students who work campus jobs and are paid through Western's Payroll Office must have their paychecks electronically deposited into their personal bank account, beginning Fall 2007. Access the Direct Deposit Authorization form from the STARS menu or fill out the form in the Payroll Office, Sherman Hall 211.

For students without a bank account, the University has negotiated arrangements with three local banks to offer "no cost" options, which waive the initial minimum balance requirement.
