DESCRIPTION

Portfolio: The portfolio includes the prints of six artists and six poets whose works deal with the landscape of our state. An Iris color inkjet was used to replicate the art images. Poems were photo-silkscreened printed at W.I.U. using New Century typeface. Artists and poets signed their works in limited editions of twenty prints. The landscape print size is approximately 3"x5" or 3"x6". (Portfolio size: 16"x20".) Each participant contributed two works.

Touring Exhibition: One portfolio is framed and available for exhibition purposes. Please contact the Illinois State Museum. A catalog will accompany the exhibit. Poetry readings will take place at various exhibition openings.

Catalog: The catalog includes the following:
a. A one paragraph statement by each artist and poet about their relationship to the Illinois landscape.
b. A reproduction of one work by each participant.
c. Interpretive essays by two well known writers: Dr. David Sokol, Chair of Art History Dept., University of Illinois, Chicago; and Dr. Laurence Lieberman, Professor of English, University of Illinois, Urbana.

Poets: James Ballowe, David Etter, John Knoepfle, Lisel Mueller, Forrest Robinson, and Kevin Stein.
