The Theory of Pork and Beans
As if guided by a psychic instinct, they survived the long journey by hibernating for many months in space vehicles made of metal and paper. These vehicles spiraled through the outer layers of Earth's atmosphere and made soft landings in the planet's oceans. As the lids of the vehicles opened up, out flowed a light brown liquid that contained small pods. These pods, in fact, were life support systems containing pigs. Contact with the sea resulted in the opening of the pods and the pigs regained consciousness and swam to land. Humans immediately confronted them before they spread the message that meditation and love were more important than war. < plate I | table of contents | plate III > |
