A Welsh American Portfolio

FRED JONES: Born Llanymynach, 1940

Educated at Cardiff College of Art, U.W. Cardiff, University of Pittsburgh, University of Wisconsin. He also worked at Aletier 17 in Paris. Fred Jones is Professor of Art at Western Illinois University and the Originator and Director of this Welsh American Portfolio. His paintings and prints have won numerous awards and have been exhibited throughout Wales and the U.S.A. The portfolio was funded by the British Council, The Welsh Arts Council, Illinois Arts Council, W.I.V. and the National Library of Wales. The energy and comment of Fred Jones was instrumental in achieving this support and bringing into being in 1984 this unique trans-Atlantic project.
