GILLIAN CLARKE: Born Cardiff, 1937

Gillian Clarke is the most active writer in Wales, giving writing workshops all over the U.K. She is a tutor on the University of Glamorgan's M.A. in writing. A former Chair of the Welsh Academy, she won the 1994 Welsh Arts Council prize for a poetry collection with The King of Britain's Daughter.
