Redina Herman, Geography, has received funding in the amount of $28,320 from the Boeing Company for her project entitled, "Evaluation and Dynamics of Contrail Environments." The project duration is June 1, 2007 through September 30, 2007.
The purpose of this project is to: examine literature for connection between meteorology and RHice; examine sonde data for instances of high RHice and correlate with sounding indices to indicate possible weather connections; and, examine RUC data in the vicinity of the sonde sites for correlation between synoptic-scale/mesoscale events and the environment necessary to form persistent contrails.
