SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS

Undergraduate Scholarships. The Russell and Tillman scholarships are available to undergraduate students in geography. The Ruth Russell Memorial Scholarship in Geography is awarded to an outstanding junior or senior student majoring in geography while the Tillman Scholarship is awarded to an entering transfer/community college student.

Undergraduate Award. Each year the Geography Department presents a Department Scholar Award to an outstanding undergraduate Geography major.

Graduate Award. Each year the Geography Department awards the Robert K. Fryzek Outstanding Graduate Student Award. This award recognizes excellence in leadership within the Department of Geography, University and Community. The selected candidate receives a cash award and has his/her name placed on a permanent plaque displayed in the Geography Department.
